Glyph Technology PortaGig 62 1TB Portable Hard Drive with RAID Description
PortaGig 62 is modeled after it's powerful big brother the GT 062E, and offers large capacity in a tiny footprint. A built-in fan keeps the two internal drives cool while Glyph Manager software constantly monitors the drive and enclosure health, notifying you if there is a problem. Bus-powered with FireWire 800, the PortaGig 62 also includes USB and eSATA ports for optimum compatibility, allowing you to easily work on the road with a reliable RAID. eSATA is not a bus-powered interface. However, you can use the eSATA connection for fast data transfer (up to 177MB/s) while simultaneously using the FireWire 800 connection to power the drive. An external power supply is included with the PortaGig 62 if bus power is not available or is insufficient. - Features
- Dual-Drive, Portable RAID Storage Solution - PortaGig 62 offers large capacity in a small package, complete with a cooling fan and rear power switch. With two internal SATA drives, it uses the next-generation Oxford 936 chip, supporting RAID 0, RAID 1, and Spanning. Connected by FireWire 800, USB or eSATA, it reports the health of the two internal drives using Glyph Manager. A software utility for setting the drive mode, Glyph Manager also reports case temperature, fan speed individual drives
- Speeds and Performance - PortaGig 62 drives are available in 7,200 and 5,400 RPM models and use only Seagate brand hard disk mechanisms. Seagate drives live up to their reputation for performance, quality, and durability. All models of the PortaGig 62 perform well in an audio environment, however the 7,200 RPM models have slightly higher track counts compared to the 5,400 RPM models due to their higher transfer rates.
- Tested and Approved - The PortaGig 62 has been qualified with Digidesign Pro Tools to support over 70 tracks of 24bit / 48k audio, with edits.
